This is a very nice piece of consumer-level NAS hardware. I particularly appreciate the combination of M2 and SATA slots, the upgradeable RAM, and the 10GB ethernet. It greatly outperforms any device I'm aware of at similar price point. The software is decent, but not quite up to the same consumer-level standard. I have had to leverage some legacy UNIX power-user skills in order to get the most out of it. The GUI interface for scripted NAS-initated backups is very rudimentary. On the other hand, users familiar with the UNIX command line, cron, sh, and rsync can quickly configure it to do whatever they like.

So far so good. It’s replacing an old SAS attached storage. Using docker for plex saves me from upgrading my old plex server running windows 10. I also love the ability to backup my photos on my IPhone.

Please fix external usb support

Great NAS just software a little different to do basic things like adding pictures. I am enjoying though. I guess when new updates for the software come out it is going to be great. Hardware is unbelievable.

I bought this and simply way over kill for me but now I can cancel all my monthly cloud memberships and back all my stuff up locally which is way nice.

I am still struggling with the setup and how it best suits me. Then I could give it a fair rating.

easy to install and set up. I have used the Ugreen DXP4800 plus for about two weeks and so far no complaints

Unit works just like I had envisioned.

Bang your buck. Better than anything synology offers, especially since it includes the 10gbe Ethernet without having to pay more in the Synology. Its ashame that I had to use a parcel forwarding service to get it here In Australia, cause I think it would dominate the market. For my fellow Aussie's reading this, I used Shipito as my parcel forwarder. Just be aware that these muppets don't put the GST in the price until checkout( for Ugreen and Shipito). Also be aware of the BS import charge into Aus. I claimed my parcel was worth only $10 and paid $1 of tax . But this was risky. All up with a Ugreen Promo, I paid $300 less than importing via Amazon Au.

2 weeks in and everything is going smoothly. Well packaged, basically ready to go besides loading in some drives. Was able to start with two drives at RAID1 and change it to RAID5 after a week with no data loss or reformatting.

I added m.2 drives, 32gb of ram, and four SATA drives. It does every need and more. It replaced a recently purchased Buffalo in every way imaginable. It is whisper quiet and everything just works.

Very easy to set up and use. The OS is coming along. Keep updating the app store!

I would recommend this unit to anyone. It's really easy to configure. I feel it was an excellent choice for me and it has plenty of expandability when you are ready for even more performance. My recommendation is to research all of UGreen's products and make a decision on what fits your needs.

Awesome first time NAS that allows for room to grow. The build quality is also superb and 无忧短视频 OS is easy to use. In the future when I decided to upgrade to a 6 bay solution I'm going to see what 无忧短视频 has to offer.

Wish I could. Purchased 2-8TB drives from Seagate but they have apparently closed their doors to fix something and cancelled my order. So no report yet.

So far working great but in future expect to have full (not just pictures) iphone sync option.

Great product that is easy to install!

This is the 2nd one that I've purchased about the original one before you guys really released it, when you are developing it and doing a startup and I love that 1 as well. I loaded it with four 20 TB drives. It runs smoothly quietly and efficiently since I first received it has run constantly. The 2nd one soon as I get it configured I'll be attaching it to the network that are very user-friendly and easy to set up and use I did a little experimentation with the first one set it up as a raid server. I've owned some more expensive units and quite honestly I will more than likely buy another one toward the end of this new year 2025 good quality good workmanship solid unit. I would've attached pictures and video of it running I just don't have any right now never thought to take any.

The overall design and hardware performs as advertised. The fact that I can't backup to dropbox is the reason why I gave it a 4 star rating. Backing up to rsync servers is more expensive and I need a cloud base backup.

Shipping was a tad slow. but it was the Holidays. So that's understandable. The packaging was superb! The unit works flawlessly and is very intuitive!

Great product. Simple to setup. The backup and sync apps are intuitive and easy to use. I set it up with RAID5 on three drives with the fourth as a hot swap. I purchased it because I watched third party YouTube videos targeting photographers and their storage and backup needs.

Great product, works as expected. Open many options to run small projects using the Docker app.

This NAS has been great. Loaded with 2x 2tb Nvme drives, 4x 12tb Seagate drives and 32gb of RAM, this thing has been great. Coming from a WD mycloud, the performance has been great, and did not expect the tech support to be so fast. Had an issue where I could not set up and use the drives. UGreen tech responded to all messages in just a few minutes, offering solutions. When my issue wasn't resolved, they offered remote support. When the tech team were not available to provide remote support due to normal working hours, I still got a response from someone letting me know. Honestly, was really surprised and they got me squared away really quickly. The device is fast, and reliable. the only thing I wish worked a little better is the inbuilt photos app. As I am using this NAS as large drive for photos and videos and don't really care about all the other fancy features, I wish everything I dropped on the drive showed up in the photos app without me needing to manually add them. Even if I could just add a directory to the photos app so new stuff is automatically pulled in, it would be great. Remote access has been fine with no issues to date. will be interested to see how quickly I can back up memory card to the NAS from a hotel room or something. Overall, very happy with this NAS.

Upgraded from my Synology DS720+ and I must say the Performance , Specs, and Build Quality is Night & Day. I use this strictly for my Plex archive's and this machine executes every task thrown at it. Now I do wish there was more stand alone apps as to Use Plex, you must setup using Docker. Plex & Docker works but it’s not 100% as simple functions like “Scan my library automatically” is not functioning as it should. Overall, this is how a NAS should be built.

This thing is great. Super easy to set up and helps you every step of the way.

Excellent turnkey product for the price.

I ordered the DXP4800-PLUS directly from the company to replace my aging NAS. The unit arrived within a few days. The packaging was exceptionally done right. When my HDDs arrived, I installed and configured two?RAID 1 systems?without?looking at the instructions. If you have a bit of background in computers, the apps were pretty intuitive to use. To set up?a?local media server, all you need to do is to download the DLNA utility and to follow some simple instructions. I currently use the 2.5Gbps port and the speed is good. I plan to switch to 10Gbps later. I just had the unit a few days but so far it has well exceeded my expectations, especially in configuration.

It's an extremely capable unit. My only wish would be that applications and software becomes more available. While it's not awful to set up a plex server with docker, it's by no means as easy as a unit with preexisting applications. That being said, the build quality, presentation and overall appearance to me is miles above the competition.

Hardware was great. Software shows a lot of promise and I am hopeful Ugreen will continue to build on top of a wonderful platform it set out with!

Seems like a great unit. Looking forward to more app availability and software updates. Would love a way to automatically backup a folder to external drive periodically.

I do like the NAS. I have a full 2.5GBE setup and I’m not getting 2.5 speed, I’m not sure if something in the NAS isn’t working right or what. But I can’t figure it out and that’s why the 4 stars.

DXP4800 Plus Great product, well designed, and well thought out. It was easy to install, set up and load with data!

DXP4800 Plus I didn't necessarily have low expectations going in, but I figured a company that's mainly done chargers and a few docking stations wouldn't produce this strong of a NAS on their first try. It's an excellent simple NAS for newbies. Setup is easy, the interface is easy, the functionality is powerful. If you're willing to tinker a bit, this device is great with TrueNAS or Unraid. I favor TrueNAS here but tested both and Unraid worked perfectly fine on one of the USB 2.0 ports. The only hiccup I experienced with either was that the LEDs don't work as expected (at least not without installing a workaround). 无忧短视频's UGOS that comes installed by default is perfectly good, and once they release the source I'll likely even come back to using it. In this 4800 Plus you get four SATA bays which you can lock 3.5" drives in without screws. They also accept 2.5" drives. On the bottom there is a removable aluminum plates that exposes 2 M2 slots for 2280 drives and 2 DDR5 SODIMM slots, supporting up to 2x32GB RAM. There's no ventilation at all in this NVMe/RAM compartment which is unfortunate, so you have to rely on the extremely thick thermal pads provided for any NVMe drives you install or they will easily overheat. There's also a third NVMe slot that you have to mostly disassemble the case to get to. It houses the 128 GB drive that comes with the NAS and has the UGOS by default. Having 3 NVMe slots at least means you can use 2 for mirrored cache while the the third hosts the system files.

DXP4800 Plus Great

DXP8800 Plus Outstanding build quality. Thoughtful design. Power efficient yet powerful Intel Core i5 1235U 10 core / 12 thread processor with built in video subsystem. Easy Access HDD's and easy access to RAM as well as NVMe SSD's. Fast dual 10GbE. Thunderbolt 4 support along with USB 3.2 Gen 2. The only downside that I can think of is the provided UGreen UGOS Pro OS which needs some work. Most of the basic features are there. If a supported app isn't available then Docker will likely get you sorted. Still, the lack of iSCSI LUN support can be a problem for advanced users. Virtual Machines cant access external media such as USB or Thunderbolt. The OS is stable, it's just some of the little things haven't been sorted.

DXP4800 Plus The HW in this NAS is great. It holds 4 3.5" disks Raid (5,6,10) and also has options are an SSD volume or r/w cache. The memory is expandable using DDR5 SODIMMS. It has two (2.5F, 10G) Ethernets ports as well as several USB 3.2 options. The UGOS provides many of the most common NAS options. There is also native Docker and Virtual Machine support.

DXP2800 I'm reviewing this as someone that's been in IT for over 25 years and has used similar units from Synology all the way up to huge $100k+ SANs. This is a great little storage tank for use in the home and even to a certain extent some limited usage in the corporate world. For me, I'm using it solely for local machine backups, so I don't really need a ton of features beyond just a bunch of disk space, but this has a lot more than I expected. The ability to install M.2 NVMe drives as read/write caches is great and seems to speed things up considerably. It was super easy to configure and the box itself is well-built and easy to manage. Some of the most clever drive trays I've ever dealt with: no tools required and I had this thing loaded up with test drives and serving files in like ten minutes. I had it set up as a local Time Machine backup in under an hour. (most of that was spent finding a place to hide it) It's reasonably quiet and it has a lot of options to silence beeps and dim lights, which is nice if you're using it at home. If there's one thing I take from evaluating this: I see a lot of potential in this thing going forward. It really reminds me a lot of older Synology units where they had the essentials needed when they came out, but then they just kept adding more features over time to make them even better. This is missing things that Synology has like iSCSI targets, etc, but I'm sure all that stuff will come as time and market needs dictates. I should mention that I haven't yet tried the Docker setup, but I do intend to here soon. In that case, I feel like a RAM upgrade would probably be justified.

DXP4800 Plus Easy to assemble and put into operation....I put in 4 20TB harddrives, setup Raid5 and now have 55TB volume. My only wish here was better documentation.

DXP4800 Plus i replace the OS on the nas with truenas. it work well just like any other computer. ugreen is ok with changing the os. i was able to get the full 10g speed with the nas with the nvme. so with that in mind, i just use the nvme as a cache for my 4 sata drive. with that i was able to get very fast speed with my nas.

DXP4800 Plus What can I say, this thing is AWESOME. FAST CPU, plenty of RAM and is even expandable, 4x SATA slots, 2x NVME slots. Comes with two CAT 7 cables, so if you plan on taking advantage of the 10gb port, you're good to go out of the box. I did take one star away and here's why: the HDD trays are made of plastic. At this price point, I would expect a superior product. While it doesn't affect performance in any way, I would have really liked it if they were made of metal. They are easy to use, toolless drive insertion is great. The only other complaint is the limited selection of apps in the interface. Something as popular as Plex isn't even available. You can use docker and install it that way, but it really should be integrated and available from the Appstore. So close to 5 stars if they would address those two things.

DXP4800 Plus This is one of the most feature-rich NAS units that I have used. For something similar, you would have to pay multiple times the price. The hardware is more akin to a full-fledged computer than a NAS appliance, and the performance benefit shows. The DXP4800 Plus has a Pentium processor, 8GB of DDR5, and expansion slots for NVME drives. The processor has made all operations run quickly and smoothly as well as the included apps. The app library is relatively small with 无忧短视频's young NAS OS, but core features are all there. created my setup with four 10TB NAS drives in RAID5 with two 128GB NVME drives in RAID1 acting as an accelerator. Two NVME drives are required to setup a read/write cache while only one is required for a read cache. I was able to achieve over 500MB/s in this configuration with two 2.5G connections active while migrating 20TB of files. I have been very impressed by the ease of setup and the stellar performance of this NAS.

DXP2800 Took a little bit of setup to get logged in from my PC because I had to reset the system and didn't read the full instructions. After a factory reset the default login is "admin" for user name and the password is blank. After I got up and running I had consistent transfer speeds from my PC to the NAS at 113Mbps. I migrated all my Plex library onto 1 12tb disk and my backup files onto an 8gb disk. Working great. Time will tell but so far I love it. Would recommend.

DXP4800 Plus When I first saw this on Vine, I wasn't expecting much, but grabbed it. I started doing some research and everyone is raving on this little unit. The price is pretty much right in line with other quality 4 bay NASs from other manufacturers. The installation was pretty straight forward. I populated with 4 20Tb WD reds. I had 6 in another machine I was messing with and was running TrueNAS. Nothing important was on the drives, so II put them in this unit. Two of the drives, however, would not be recognized and was throwing errors. After moving the drives around to different bays and then swapping trays, it was determined two of the six drives would not work. I haven't subsequently tried these drives in another machine, so at this point I don't know if the drives are bad or this NAS is finicky. I will report back later. It is obvious that Ugreen is emulating Synology in their OS, as the similarities are striking. However, the OS is not nearly as polished. So far, no bugs or glitching have been found. The setup of the pool and volume has been flawless. I ran the error check test with no errors. I've copied a bunch of files over without issue. I don't have a 10Gb network, so that has not been tested, but will now give me an excuse to spend the money on a switch, some 10Gb cards, and proper cables to at least get my workstation up to speed to transfer files as a sportier rate. Compared to the Synology 918+ this is a good machine. Plus, everyone is talking about installing alternate OSes on this and I think after a bit I'll install TrueNAS, something you can not do on any other purpose built NAS I can think of. So far, 100% recommending this NAS.

DXP4800 Plus Received this and got it setup, currently only have a 256GB SSD in as I don't have my HDDs picked out yet. I plan on using this as a backup to my current NAS as I don't want to have to rip and convert my Blu-rays and DVDs again should my current NAS fail. For the price I'm torn with this product, $700 will allow you to put together a more capable computer with storage included rather than this diskless system, though you will struggle to match some of the features like 10G LAN or the ease of swapping drives. Just putting something together without looking for deals or trying to get the best price/performance I could custom build a system with a 12400f, 32GB RAM, 256GB NVME, and an 8TB HDD for just a few dollars more than this, the custom system would outperform this NAS considerably while using a bit more power. Out of the box though this is a compact system that works; however, you need to pick up storage to really use it. You can setup different RAID options for redundancy, for my use case I won't be using RAID as it will basically be a backup Jellyfin server. You can install apps from their small offerings or install basically any Linux applications if you're comfortable doing that. You can also use Docker for setting up apps like Jellyfin. Without installing anything extra you can set this up for a multi-user NAS through which you can assign permissions and roles fairly easily. It has out of the box remote access that you can setup, I will not be using that. With 4 drive bays this is appropriate for home users and small to medium businesses. Setup is pretty simple for a home user and should allow most people to have enough storage for their needs. The video library / streaming works; however, I will be sticking to Jellyfin as the included app would only return Chinese titles when searching and I'm not sure why, I assume this will be fixed with an update. I also just really like the Jellyfin interface and have been using it for a couple years. Build quality is excellent. It's a very compact system and feels very well put together, this would be one of the more difficult areas to replicate with a custom build. I would recommend this if you want a NAS that is basically ready to use out of the box with a little bit of configuration and setup. Just keep in mind you also need to have or buy drives to actually use this. If you're comfortable doing so you can custom build a NAS that will outperform this significantly but isn't likely to be as compact and requires more knowledge and effort.

So glad I got this. Super easy to setup. I stuck with the stock OS for now, and it's very clean and easy to use. Wish it had more apps/features and that using containers was a little less technical and UI based so I may switch to another OS in the future, but overall really happy with this as a backup and media server device!

This is my first NAS so I'm still learning, setting up was easy, ran fine right out of the box, populated it with 4 22TB hard drives, 2 8TB NVME drives and 64GB of ram. Excellent build quality.

First time NAS user and don't need too many features, it has all I want and need, build quality seems great, loving it.

I did ALL the reading and research and looked at all the models. It was a bit harder to choose the "right" one for me. After owning and STILL using a Synology NAS, (2bay) I wanted the make sure I updated and upgraded to one as an investment not just a tech toy. This is going to be a center point of my SOHO / ProUSER Cisco Network. I was one of the first group to purchase from 无忧短视频. I did get it shipped and received within the 5 days they promised, THOUGH your mileage CAN vary. So Far, I LOVE it, it isn't Synology, YET. they have been updating it fairly often.
